![]() HIGHLIGHT VIDEOS SENT TO YOU - AUTOMATICALLY It's kind of maybe a little bit like the Seinfeld episode where Jerry rents a car and he has a reservation but he gets to the car rental place and they say sorry we don't have a car for you and he's like but I made a reservation and they're like yeah but.The Quik app picks your best shots, syncs them to music, adds cinematic transitions, and creates a shareable video. I'm attempting to find a good analogy here or a good metaphor that wraps this up in a bow. What if you had to go to a restaurant and order a waiter and then once the waiter came you could order food? They are transferred to your device They are literally in your device but you have to use the GoPro quick app to access them unless you make a duplicate copy inside of your device. IT'S BIZARRE I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO FRAME IT. Unfortunately for anyone who expects transferred files to have transferred to the device, they weren't/aren't (except they ARE). I Cleared the data and cache in quik from my phone apps settings because it was taking up 240gb of a 500gb internal memory. ![]() ![]() That the media is on my phone, taking up space, but inaccessible to me unless I open quik and do what I thought I just did.įeels like a violation of my personal space. That when I transfer a file from hero 11 to my android with Quik, it can only be assessed through their proprietary software. How can it possibly be okay to transfer files to my device but then only be able to access them with proprietary software?Īlso, when have you ever thought, "I'm going to save this in my device so I can access it, but I want it to be hidden from me in file manager and I want to have to add a second copy to my device in order to have freedom to work with I am hard pressed to understand what frame you all have for this that makes it okay. That is in addition to the second copies I had already saved to phone memory. I discovered 240gb were being taken up by quik. I was out of room today in my 500gb internal memory. I have an s23 ultra and there is no sd card space. That's really annoying though because now I have to re-log in and etc etc. Now I can go and delete the cache and data from my phone's app settings. Now the file I've transferred is hidden someplace within quick and taking up space on my phone and it's stored in my regular media folder on my device where I keep media that I'm working with. from where else are you f****** saving it?) I see the memory usage in space taken up by the file wherever I've transferred it and the space not going down in quik. My experience is that the QUIK memory usage increases when I transfer a file from my hero 11 with Quik and that when I transfer it again from quik to "save to my device" (which is preposterous because it's literally already on my device. I've seen it asserted elsewhere that the media is not being stored on my device twice. With Quik, I transfer the file from hero 11, it goes into a non accessible location in quik and can only be assessed from within quik. This is not only inconvenient, it is confusing, it is wasteful, and there is a creep factor to consider when an app is hiding my own content from me in my device.įor instance, when I use DJI fly to transfer a video or photo from my Air2S to my android, it is saved in my internal storage>DCIM>DJI AlbumĪs soon as the transfer completes, I can access it from my phone's file manager, edit it with Adobe Rush or with GoPro quik or send it to another phone, Google drive, Facebook, etc. Your product is the only product that makes me transfer content twice. My suggestion and request that I'm bothered I even have to make is to actually save the files to my device when I use Quik to transfer from the hero 11 Black to my android.
